I fell in love with the guitar at the age of nine, thanks to the Clash, Nirvana and The Ramones. With Jimi Hendrix and the fast-shred guitar of Yngwie Malmsteen as a gateway, I spent my high school years studying heavy metal and blues. After learning from jazz guitarist and K-pop songwriter Andres Öberg, I was invited to play at the 2008 Django Festival in Stockholm. During this time, I frequently played jazz gigs around Malmö, learning the foundations of jazz improvisation and interplay. To perform with Kathrine Windfeldt’s Big Band at the Børneteater in Christiania is one of many great memories.

2017 was the year I discovered the music scene of New York. After hearing forty concerts in two weeks there, I would regularly return to the city to learn, jam and collaborate with artists such as the painter Michael Hafftka and his wife, the poet Yonat Hafftka. Collaborating with them gave me invaluable guidance and creativity in my artistry and songwriting.

Around the same time, visiting and engaging with London’s underground music scene provided further fuel for my own craft. Back home, a collaboration with Swedish indie artist Summer Heart led to a record deal with Stockholm label Something Beautiful Records where I would release music under the moniker Alec Baker.

Since then, I’ve continued co-writing sessions with emerging artists such as Saturday, Monday and continue my musical collaborations both as a guitarist and songwriter. Currently, I’m developing a new concert and community event called Super Music Club for musicians and music lovers at the reputable art museum Skissernas Museum in Lund, Sweden.
